Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): emgine, horizontal shaft, slow position

Question
i have an older craftsman horizontal shaft i belive a 5hp motor. it has a tao toa performance carb on it. it is electric start. the motor was on my go cart up until last weekend. it ran like a champ until the coke broke. we fixed it it ran great and then just stoped. now it will not start. it will roll over but will not fire. it has spark and fuel. we did getthe motor to roll over twice but when it did it was at full throttle. we checked the throttle and from the position it was in it should not have been at full throttle. what should i do?
and where can i find parts for a motor this old?

Answer
Hello Matt:

>>What is the Engines Compression?
>>Was there Any Noise when it Quit?
>>A Small Engines Carburetor is Always at Full Throttle when the Engine is Not Running even when the Throttle is in the Slow Position.
>>Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug.
>>A Lot of these Older Briggs Engines Still have Parts Available from Most Small Engine Service Centers and Online also.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
