Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mcculloch Eager Beaver, chain oiler, mcculloch eager beaver

Question
Hello, I purchased a used McCulloch eager beaver chainsaw recently. It only has the manual chain oiler on it. The problem I am having is that that bar and chain oil tank keeps emptying out when the saw sits. It is like the tank sipons itself out. How do I stop this? I have replaced the fuel/oil tank with a new one because I thought that maybe the pump was the problem. The pump is not replaceable by itself, it is part of the tank. The new tank emptied out just like the old one. I would have thought that there would be some kind of check valve in the pump to prevent this. I can see the oil coming out of the opening that it is supposed to, it just doesnt stop until the tank empties out even though you are not depressing the pump lever.
Any help will be apprecieated.
