Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Liquid Combustion Technologies, LCT engine

Question
I work at a Sears store and last year we introduced a front tine tiller with a mystery engine on it.  After many dissatisfied customers and "Old Farts" complaining about cheap chinese stuff I wanted to find out about who made the engine.  It looked almost exactly like a horizontal shaft Honda engine on one of our pressure washers.  The engine in question was by LCT.  When we first started selling them, the engine would begin leaking gas through the carburetor.  I actually called LCT and talked to a gentleman about it and he said they had fixed the problem, although that I do not know because we haven't sold any since.  This year All of our large tillers have that same LCT engine.  This may not be the best use of your expertise, but I was wondering if you've had any experience with this engine company.  The few online sellers of their engines have many good customer reviews and few if any bad reviews on both horizontal shaft engines they offer.  If you do have experience with them, could you possibly let me know if they are easy to work on?  Also do you know anything about Greyhound engines?  They are sold by Harbor Freight tool company.  I assume they are made by someone else with the name Greyhound slapped on by Harbor Freight.  Thanks in advance.

Answer
I have a lot of experience with this company, I have their telephone number in my cell phone..

Out of all the Chinese Engines I have evaluated I would rank them in the top 3 for performance

They get a huge NUMBER 1 in my book for service and after sale support.  As you said, you called someone from LCT. They have USA presence!  This is important!  When I call them, I call them on our time zone, not the 13 or 14 hour difference as the other Chinese engine companies.

The engines are very easy to work on, Parts are easy to find online Go to  www.stens.com

Many years ago the OLD FARTS didn't like Japanese engines either...LCT has a 2 year warranty.

You will NOT go wrong with the LCT engine!  Don't be afraid of them, they are just like working on any other horizontal import engine! Take it from someone who works with them everyday!

Hope this helps!
