Steering Column Repair: actuator rod and ignition switch placement, gmc suburban, chevrolet truck


Question
is there anyway you can show me how to reassemble the ignition switch as well as where the actuator rod goes on 1987 GMC suburban.  Had to replace the ignition switch, did everything the book said but cant figure where exactly the actuator rod goes.  I tried reassembling but everytime i get it together the truck wont start. neither does it recgnize key in ignition now. CAn you help me please
