Steering Column Repair: Toyota Cruise Control lever broke, tiny screw, salvage yards

Question
QUESTION: Hi Mr. Gan, my girlfriend has a rav4 and her cruise control lever is not exactly in tact.  the back piece is still there with the wiring going into the steering column, and there is also a floating piece of metal (copper I guess) that looks like a 3-pronged pitch fork without a handle that needs to find its home in the whole mess of things.  I'm not sure if there is supposed to be some tiny screw that holds it together but I have tried to put that metal piece in all different ways and I can't figure out what the problem is... is there another piece that is missing?  any help would be great.

ANSWER: Hi Jon:
I need to know what year Rav 4 it is before I can begin to help you.
I will look forward to your reply

QUESTION: Sorry about that- it's a 1999

Answer
No Problem...
The switch you are talking about has a replacement switch that does have a screw where you are talking about, but the originals did not.  As yours is broken, there is really no repair for it except replacing it completely.  The part is fairly expensive but only comes as that... a complete switch for $178.  Here is the part number---8463042011
Aside from that, for used parts...Try this site.  You may be able to find what you need.

It's the website all the salvage yards use when they say "Hang on--let me see if my other yard has it".  Actually it's an online database of all the salvage yards in America.  You can search by part, location or price

Good luck
