QuestionHi. My name is Tamara. Someone broke into and stole my car! :^( I have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. Loaded. What they did was break the plastic and broke some piece off. Now my key won't turn and I have to start it like they did by pushing a metal piece forward in the column. Is this an easy fix and how can I fix it?

It is a fairly sizable job for someone who knows what to do and has the tools. It should cost about $150-$300 depending on exactly what they broke. The parts are all available and actually my company sells them if you decide to go forward. But first, take a look at the job itself and see if that's something you (or someone you know) want to tackle.

They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the videos are for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.
