Steering Column Repair: 1988 chevy truck cab and a half, chevrolet truck, chevy truck

I've noticed a lot of play in the upper half of my steering column it has tilt steering, the play is not only up and down but side to side just above the shifter ,with a small amount of binding when I shift drive to park (automatic) can you help Thanks Greg .
