Subaru Repair: torn cv boot, cv boot, clutch

Question
Front CV joint boot torn and throwing grease all over. Do I need to replace CV joint, if so how much will this cost, also clutch is slipping badly could these be related? Clutch is recent replacement with about 20000 miles

Answer
As long as the axle is making a clicking noise when making sharp turns from a stop then the joint should be ok, as long as you don't wait to long to fix it. You will need to remove the inner joint from the axle first, then the inner boot, the you can take the outter cv boot off. This will not affect the clutch, so it sounds like you will need to replace that also.
