Towing Issues: Towing with car dolly 1994 Firebird, car dolly, truck spoilers

Question
QUESTION: We need to tow our son's 94 Firebird about 200 mile with a car dolly.  Can we tow it with the front wheels up?  Will we have issues with the drive shaft?

ANSWER: I would unbolt the driveline from the rear axle and either remove it totally (it might leak transmission fluid from the rear of the transmission)  or tie it up using some ratchet straps and make sure one goes though the space in the yoke and the u joint to pull it forward also.

QUESTION: Why can't I tow it from the rear so I so not have to unbolt the driveshaft?

Answer
you are correct, it can be towed backwards, but it does create a few issues with towing backwards...

Things like rear window louvers, truck spoilers, low ground clearance on the front end.   Plus tying - securing the steering wheel gets tricky at times.
