Towing Issues: car towed, homework section, gov pubs

Question
Tracy-California  So I got my self in a situation.  I sold a car to a minor without knowing he was a minor.  He got the car towed and though I turned my relase of liability prior to the towing I have a feeling the i'll eventually have to take responsibility for the vehicle.  I'm a college student and I don't have much money, the car has a 30 day hold and i'll have to pay over 1000 dollars.  Is there anything i can do to avoid paying the fees, maybe leting the tow company sell the vehicle.

Answer
California law specifically has rules about the release of liability and turning it in.. If you followed the rules and did it right, you should not be concerned...

But California laws also have specific provisions on the "last registered and legal owners" responsibilities...
