Towing Issues: towed car, tow companies, tow company

Question
My car was towed and i don't want the car. I got a certified letter telling me car was towed and charges. Can I just let them have the car or will they take me to court

It is amazing that people think that tow companies just tow the vehicle and do not need to get paid...

In some states, if you do not redeem (pay) for the vehicle the tow company can use the courts to place either a lien - judgement against you for the fees owed..
Or they can use the court and DMV to have your drivers license suspended or even your vehicle tags suspended till you pay the fees..


And then there is the collection agencies which are sometimes used.
I would suggest that you get ahold the tow company and see what you can work out with them..
