Towing Issues: Towing out of a private driveway, tow truck driver, tow company

My car was recently towed out of my driveway. I am the sole owner of the house and the car. I of course called the police because I thought my car had been stolen, they told me it had been towed. When I called the tow company the next day requesting that they return my car they basically said F*%& you. How can they be allowed to come on to my property and take my car?

Well, I can not provide much of an answer here, it seems that " A FEW IMPORTANT FACTS" have been left out of the question..

If the car is being repo'ed they can come on the property but there are also a few conditions which vary by "STATE"

If you have unpaid parking tickets then the police can issue a warrant for the "arrest of the car" and have it towed...

If you had work done on the car or had been towed and either the credit card or check  payment was no good, "DEPENDING ON THE STATE" they can come get the car again...


COME ON, I need information to answer the question properly, as I can only provide general answers which do not help you, and also results in people leaving negative feedback on me for not answering the question with specific information which you are looking for....

I maybe a tow truck driver who volunteers on this board, but I really did fail "MIND READING 101" in school...
