Tractor Repair: case 1070 pto, spring brake, hydraulic pressure

I had a pto not working, ended up I put new discs in and rebuilt it.  I did not change the pto spring. (Oil engage, spring brake) Pto works good but it stops quickly.  Kinda scrary quick.  Is this normal or is there something I can do to soften the stop?  Thank-u for listening.

  If you run something on the pto does not coast for awhile after turning off the pto, they will stop pretty quickly if the brake is working OK.  Since the brake is not adjustable and comes on by itself as soon as the hydraulic pressure is shut off to it, there is nothing you can really change to make it a softer stop.
