Chrysler Repair: 1997 Town and Country turn signal works one side only, left turn signal, turn signal switch

Question
My left turn signal works intermitently, sometimes it will work sometimes not. Outside bulb does not come on. Right side works fine. If I turn on left signal and then turn on emergency flasher and then turn flasher off the left turn signal will work. Where is the fuse or the turn signal flasher control located?  It is not in the fuse box under the hood.

Answer
Hi Mike,
When you get the left signal to work, do the external bulb filaments all look normally bright when compared to what the right side look like? If not, then I would suspect you have a problem with the bulb/socket that is dim or 'out'.
There are two fuses in the circuit. Number 10 under the hood (20 amp) is for the light bulb current supplies. Number 12 in the fuse box under the dash on the driver side (10 amp) is for the control circuitry. There is a combination turn signal/hazard flasher unit in the under dash fuse box, the biggest such device, on the right just below the fuse-like row below the 4 plugs. The left turn signal activation wire from the turn switch comes to that unit on pin 7 of the unit socket (the bottom one next to the 'jog') and so I would check to see if there is showing a good near 0 ohm resitance to ground at that socket when you call for the left turn via the turn switch. Compare that resistance reading to the reading on pin 8 (the socket in the upper right corner) when you ask for the right turn. If those show identical resistances to ground then the problem is NOT in the turn signal switch, but presumably is internal to the combo signal/flasher unit itself.
