Michael,
When was the last time you gave the car a tune-up?  If it's been more than 1-2 years, I would give it a try.  A tune-up consists of Spark plugs, Spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor button, and ignition coil.  You should probably change the Fuel and air filter's as well if they haven't been done lately.

Also, is the car using/burning oil? example: in a month's time, how much oil do you have to put in the car?  If you dont have to add any oil between oil changes, then nothing to worry about.  It sounds like you could possibly have some build oil/carbon build up in the cylinders and it takes a tries to burn this oil off the spark plugs.

thanks for the quick reply no its not any burning oil,i may try a tune up it just stalls a couple of times then its fine for the rest of the day
Its also noisy when driving its not the engine or the exhaust, sounds like a plane slowing down thanks.michael

Answer
Michael,
Ok well good thing it's not using oil.  I think a tune up would do wonders for the car.  There will be a noticable difference.
The "roaring" sound you hear is probably wheel bearings or the differential.  Wheel bearings do this when they get worn/old, and if left unchecked, they can cause problems.  So try to find out which wheel it's coming from then have someone change the wheel bearings.

 Good luck
