Buick/Olds: 95 olds 88 blower motor, jumper cables, heat damage

Question
Today when I shut the car off the blower motor continued to run untill the battery went completely dead. When we hooked it up to jumper cables it immediately started running again before the car was even started. What are the possibilities that could be wrong with it. Thanks

Answer
Check the switch on the dash which operates the blower. t most likely has suffered heat damage from a voltage overload. Sometimes the blower moter will pull too many amps, and overheat the contacts in the switch, thus causing it to stick,  temporsry solution...remove the hotwire that plugs into the switch. final solution... replace the switch...However,,,BE SURE to have the motor checked for amperage it is drawing.
