Buick/Olds: 1981 buick regal, buick regal, sending the signal

when i turn the key off the engine continues to run...what is the problem and how do i fix it.
1981 buick regal   3.8L V6

What's up Nate,
The problem is your ignition switch.  It's not sending the signal to the computer to tell it that you're actually shutting the car off.  This will require you to remove the whole steering column, but at least you have a place to start.
