Dodge: tranmission band ajustment, transmission pan, ramman

Ram Man, I own a 97 1500 RAM 5.9L 360cid.Can the bands be ajusted during a fluid and filter change? If so how do you ajust? Owners book says to do so when doing this. Also the transmission slipped the other day when I hit the gas to pass.I checked the fluid level and it is too high.This was done by previous owner. I was wanting to know from you if this is why it slipped,and when I change the fluid & filter this will solve my problem?  Thank You, RAM MAN

This could be the reason for it slipping,overfilling the transmission is not a good thing,i know it can't be helped sometimes.Change the fluid and filter before attempting to adjust the bands.Also wouldn't hurt to add a can of TransTune made by Seafoam.This is a transmission tune up in a can and works miracles.Also when you get the transmission pan off check for any metal on or around the magnet in the pan.RamMan
