Mercedes: stolen c280, hot air balloon, professional thieves

how did my c280 get stolen?
Car was locked with alarm on.
No broken glass on the ground.

Depending on the parked location, the car could have be raised to up on dollies and rolled away without and noise.
Professional thieves have studied the cars for their weaknesses and all cars have them. My wife is a State Farm agent and they have a list of most stolen vehicles. Insurance is higher on these vehicle. Often the vehicles are just stolen for parts.
I had a friend who had a large crew cab truck with a hot air balloon on back. It disappeared and was discovered at the docks prior to being shipped over seas. Seem they drove it inside a van to keep the low-jack from being traced.
I high crime areas the on star service may be of help.
