Nissan: Nissan Frontier stalling when cold, fuel pressure gauge, nissan frontier

Question
On recent cold mornings, my 2000 Nissan Frontier (v6,crew cab, AT) will surge/stall/surge/stall according to a regular rhythm.  It seems like it is losing fuel or spark every couple of seconds.  Problem gradually went away as engine got completely warm, but it took about 15 minutes.  Any ideas?  Dealer is clueless.

Answer
If the dealer is clueless Joe I would stay away from that dealer. Test three things first: Using a scan test tool I would check the coolant sensor and air intake sensor. If they check out ok set up a fuel pressure gauge and monitor the pressure when the engine is started. If this is good then my next step would be to watch the crank and cam sensor patterns on my lab scope, mabye one of them is dropping off.
