Dear Mr. Bell,

I have just recently bought an '82 928S, with very low (40,000) miles. It has been perfectly maintained. I use synthetics almost exclusively. It is time for an oil change, and I wondered if my original Porsche has synthetic oil compatible seals and materials.  Do you know if oil pressure senders give trouble after replacement?  I have had some Toyota senders fail after synthetic changeover, prompting a wad of JB weld to have one hold up.

While I don't know enough about the car you are asking about to answer your particular question, I would heartily recommend that you avoid using the synthetic oil in that car.  Keep using the conventional oil and you will avoid causing any unnecessary issues with the car.
