Volvo: Volvo XC70 Rear brake lights, volvo xc70, 2004 volvo xc70

Question
Hi,
I have 2004 Volvo XC70, and yesterday I noticed that after turning the engine off the rear brake lights remained on.
I have removed the brake light switch by the pedal and tested it with a circuit checker, replaced it & it seemed fine. However, today, the brake lights have again been coming on & off intermittently, sometimes when the locking & alarm button is pressed. Is this likely to be a relay fault? If so, where is the relevent relay & what is the part number?
I don't know whether it is related, but there is also an intermittent fault with the cruise control. Sometimes it just switches itself off & then the ignition has to be turned off & on to re-set it. Is this likely to be another relay fault? If so, where is this relay & do you have a part number please?

Answer
Trevor,
There are some relays in the rear electrical module. In the cover the label should tell what relay is what. Under the hood the fuse box ahould also show relays for the cruise. Call a dealer for relay numbers I don't have them. Ask the service dept if there was a bulletin for the brake light relay also.
