Volvo: Volvo 850 1995 runs very labored in the cold, temp gauge, leakage test

Question
Dear Ray- Once it is below about 55 deg outside my car takes about 15mins to warm up otherwise the cars moves but very labored and sluggish, I accelerate but it barely goes until I have momentum. Then after I drove it some, park it for a while and drive it again it's fine runs great or if I let ir warm up for a long time it's ok  I have had the temp gauge and spark plugs replaced and the car has been recently winterized. I would love some help! Thank you very much!

Answer
Liz,
Hard to say what is at fault. The t/stat is new also? Have the injectors been cleaned during the winterizing, cap rotor wires good also? Is there any fault codes posted that may lead to a problem Maybe the engine is getting weak, you may want to have a compression and cylinder leakage test done. Could it be the engine is running ok but the trans is slipping and after it warms up it becomes better? Or the trans is stuck in limp mode due to some trans faults.
