Suzuki: Stuttering engine when cold, rotor coil, gas mileage

Question
I have an 87 sami that is stuttering when I accelerate.  It seems to happen at the higher RPM range of every gear, but is more prevelant in 1st 2nd and 3rd.  It idles well and once the engine warms up I don't notice it as much or at all.  The gas mileage has also fallen from 24 to 16 mpg in the past 3 or 4 tanks of gas.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
There are a couple of possibilities.  The most probable, given that you haven't said it continues when warmed up is that the choke is on too much.  Another is that there is a miss due to an ignition system problem, i.e. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil.
