Suzuki: flat towing a Samurai, rear driveshaft, 5 speed manual transmission

Question
i have recently purchased a 1988 Samurai.
4WD 5 speed manual transmission.
Appears to be mostly stock and runs well.
i had hoped to be able to flat tow this with a towbar behind my range rover for camping excursions, but i have got a bewildering amount of contradictory feedback.

Can you make a recommendation on best practices for towing this vehicle and perhaps what equipment is appropriate?

Answer
You can flat tow. The best safest way would be to leave the front hubs "out" or "free", and disconnect the rear driveshaft at the differential.  There are only four bolts to take loose, and then you could tie it aside with "bungees".  I have heard of numerous people towing without disconnecting the rear axle, by leaving the t-case in 2wheel high range, and the trans in neutral.  I just prefer not turning the extra gearboxes.  Picky, picky.....
Contact me as necessary until it all makes sense.  I'll be glad to discuss the various statements.
