Tips on Buying Cars: Leasing, ford chevy, pickup trucks

Question
Is there a possible way to lease a vehicle for 12-15 months?  My husband leaves for Iraq next year, and we don't want an extra car sitting while he is gone, but his truck isn't working and needs reliable transportation to and from work.

Answer
The shortest lease term available to the public that I'm aware of is for 24 months.  It could be because of the tax laws that cover leasing (BIG tax advantage to companies that lease, BTW), or the fact that so much depreciation occurs in the first 18 months that the monthly payment would be prohibitively expensive.  I have seen a number of 24-month leases advertised for pickup trucks that have relatively low payments, with Ford, Chevy and Toyota offering some real good deals.
