Tips on Buying Cars: BMW 520, bmw 520i 1990, auto parts wreckers

Hi
I am in the process of buying a BMW 520i 1990.
I live in Lagos, Nigeria and the car was imported from Europe.
Please advise on the things i can look out for on the car in order to avoid any unforseen mechanical or electrical problem.

Secondly the manual was lost in transit. Please suggest how i can lay my hands on another copy.

Hi Ini
Your buying a car thats 15 yrs old...take it for a good road test to make sure it feels right for you...then have a mechanical frame and engine inspection done to make sure its road worthy
If you are going to have problems getting parts maybe you should be looking at a vehicle where parts are more readily available...

As for finding a manual go to search engine GOOGLE and type in words like Auto parts wreckers
