Hi,
I'm a Japanese citizen expecting my green card to be issued in a few months period.
I've my daughter living in CA and planning to buy a car for myself and let her use eventually.
I've US social security number and do not finance for the purchase.
I've found the used car I like to own on the Internet and checked the history with CARFAX.
I'm planning to visit US to see the real car but is it possible to buy the car and get an insurance under my name?

The way I understand the process, if you got a US address you can purchase " in this case your daughters " but every State the laws differ slightly, go to this link on my website  http://www.usedcartips.org/DMV.html  and navigate to CA,,, If you can't find the exact answer then phone 1-800-777-0133

Re,,,Insurance,,, You will be classified as a new driver, to lower the cost bring with you Insurance history from your present provider.

I hope you don't intend to buy this vehicle sight unseen ? is there a link where I can check this car for red flags ?
