Tips on Buying Cars: title change, neighbor, neighbors

I have a car that i bought from my aunt, my aunt bought it from her neighbor and at that time my aunt didnt get the title for it, therefore it is still in her neighbors name. My question is do i have to have insurance on that car in order to get the title changed into my name?

More than likely the answer to your question is yes, but there are some states that do not require it.  It just depends on where you live.  I would aire on the side of yes if it were me.  The second issue that you are going to have that you have not thought of yet, is that your Aunt or someone is going to have to pay taxes on the vehicle to get it into your name.  If you don't it is considered title jumping and is against the law.  The state that you are in will require that taxes be paid on on the vehicle.
