Switch the ignition off. Turn off the part of your vehicle that has a fusible link.
Find the central panel covering, usually positioned in the middle of the dashboard below the knobs of the air conditioner. Twist the knob that opens the covering, and open and remove the covering. This area should house your fuse box.
Find the position of the specific fuse linked to your malfunctioning car part on the diagram inside the cover, which shows the location of each part and its respective fuse. Toyota vehicles generally have three types of fuses: long and thin type A fuses, as well as square fuses with a covering categorized as either type B or C fuses.
Grab the broken fuse with a fuse removing tool, and draw it from the fuse box. Detach it properly and carefully to avoid damaging any other fuses. Examine the fuse through its clear top portion. If the connecting portion is disconnected, the fuse is burned.
Replace the fuse with one of the same kind in the spot from which you pulled the damaged fuse.
Close the central panel, and fasten it shut. Switch on the ignition, and turn on the previously defective part. The part should now function properly.
