How to Change a Rear Light Bulb on a Peugeot 206

The Peugeot 206 is a subcompact car that was manufactured by French car maker Peugeot from 1998 to 2009. The model name has since changed to "206+" (available only in Europe). The reverse, blinker and stop light are located within the tail light fixture, which needs to be removed anytime you need to replace a faulty bulb. No tools are necessary, and changing tail light bulbs in your Peugeot 206 should take under 30 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Rubber gloves
  • Open the trunk. Undo the two plugs closest to the tail light area to loosen the side interior trim. Pull the trim downward to reveal the back of the tail light.

  • Unplug the electrical connection.

  • Unscrew the black wing nut near the tail light housing.

  • Remove the tail light fixture from the outside.

  • Release the two locking pins on both sides of the center black cover and pull outward to reveal the three bulbs.

  • Remove the faulty bulb.

  • Install the new bulb. Wear rubber gloves when handling the bulb to keep it clean (oils from your hands can cause the bulb to burn hot).

  • Replace the center black cover. Lock the pins in place on both sides.

  • Replace the tail light fixture and screw in the black wing nut near the tail light housing in the trunk.

  • Connect the electrical wiring by snapping it in its socket.

  • Put the interior trim back in place. Snap in the plugs to secure the trim. Close the trunk.
