Where is the Fuel Pump Relay Located on a Roadmaster?

When a fuel pump relay fails, the pump can't operate, and the engine gets no fuel and won't run. When you suspect a bad fuel pump relay on your Buick Roadmaster, sometimes the hardest part is finding it. But the Roadmaster, like many cars, has an electrical distribution panel under the hood that contains fuses, circuit breakers and relays critical to engine operation.

  • Shut off the engine and open the hood.

  • Look in the left-hand rear corner of the engine compartment. The fuse panel is located on the passenger side near the windshield, mounted diagonally. See page 6-60 of your owner's manual.

  • Release the handle on the front of the fuse box and lift the lid up on its hinge. Your fuel pump relay is in position E, the first relay on the left of the second row back. See page 6-61 of your owner's manual.
