How to Change the Windshield Washer Fluid in a Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla has long been the darling of the small car market. Even though it's efficient, reliable and fun to drive, the Corolla still needs basic upkeep to live a long and healthy life. By changing its windshield washer fluid, you can keep its windshield looking bright and clear, making for a safe and relaxing driving experience.

Things You'll Need

  • Funnel
  • Windshield washer fluid
  • Turn your Corolla off and take the keys out of the ignition before popping the hood.

  • Pull the hood release latch nestled beneath the instrument panel to disengage the hood.

  • Hop out of the car and walk around to its front. Reach under the hood and pull up on the auxiliary release latch to reveal the engine compartment.

  • Prop the hood open using the thin prop rod along the edge of the engine compartment. Make sure the rod has a solid grip on the hood before proceeding.

  • Locate the windshield washer fluid reservoir beneath the power steering fluid reservoir on the left side of the engine compartment.

  • Pop open the reservoir cap and place a funnel into the opening.

  • Pour the additional washer fluid into the reservoir until it's nearly full. Then, top it off with a few drops of fluid to make sure it's completely full.

  • Take out the funnel, close the reservoir cap and lock the hood back in place.
