How to Replace the Fuses in a Nissan Altima

The 2014 Nissan Altima has a three different fuse boxes to look in -- one inside the car and two more under the hood. The fuses inside the car and under the hood are two different sizes. The fuses under the hood can also be used inside the car, but the fuses inside the car cannot be used in the boxes under the hood. When checking a fuse, look at the single wire inside the fuse. If the wire is broken the fuse is bad. Always replace a fuse with another with the same amp rating.

Replacing the Fuse

  • The passenger compartment fuse box has a fuse puller in the center of it. You can use this to pull the fuses from the passenger compartment box and the boxes under the hood. Turn the ignition and headlight switches off before checking or changing a fuse. Most of the fuses will be labeled on the box covers. Remove a cover by pushing the tab and pulling up on the cover. To remove the fuse, push the fuse puller over the fuse and pull. To replace, simply push the fuse into the slot.
