Auto body repair & detailing: 02 Avalanche pass. door sprung by the wind, chevy garage, avalanche pass

Question
The passenger door was sprung past the stop by the wind, and now if I try to open it, it will bend the front fender.
How do I go about repairing it? Is it something that should only be done by a pro?

Answer
Let a professional handle this. It's a vary common problem on this vehicle, and any Chevy garage will know how to fix this and do minimal damage in the process. You may want to file an insurance claim, there may be hinges and such that are damaged beyond repair. A repair of this nature can easily exceed 500 dollars. I've seen this condition so bad that the door needed replaced, and if you open the door up and force the fender, it will probably ruin the fender. Bill
