Car Alarms: Viper alarm system issue, viper alarm system, 12 volt

Question
I have a 97 ws-6 Trans-am which has a viper alarm system along with the general car alarm i blew my headgasket a while back and the car has been sitting.  so i took the battery out charged it put it back in the car. I no longer have the key fob for the car alarm and I have no clue what year the system is, it was pre-installed when i had the car now my issue is that i cant figure out how too disengage the alarm and get my car too crank it is getting worked on atm and the person working on it wants too just take it out of the car and i personally am fine with this but just wanted too ask if i did get the system taken out is it interconnected with the cars ignition in laments will the car still start once the system is out or is the alarm system connected into my cars computer system?
