Car Alarms: Remote start only near vehicle, labrador canada, remote start

Question
Hi.
I have a 2001 F150. It has had a remote start since purchased new. I have used a remote start in the winter and was able to get the truck to start from several hundred feet (close to 1000 or more). In 2007, I changed the battery because the distance seemed to drop significantly. A few times this fall, I started the truck without a problem but recently (below freezing) I could not start it from my door (<25'). I replaced the battery last night but still cannot get the truck to start even from 10'. It will start within 5'. I enjoy the remote because at -40, I love to go to a warm vehicle.
The brand name is "Autostart".
Thank you.

Answer
Only thing I can see here is you might need to
move the antenna to a better location, and change
the batteries in your remotes.

If this fails to give better range,
then it's time to change out the system for new
BEFORE it gets to 40- !!!

Hope this helps.
