Car Alarms: Avital Model 2300 - False alarms, keyless entry systems, shock sensor

Question
My alarm is going off at night time, now that I am parking my car outside.  I assume it is from the "shock sensor", and that it is set too sensitive.  I have decreased to minimum sensitivity, but alarms still sounds in the middle of the night.  IS there any way to defeat the shock sensor and just rely on the door and ignition sensors?
Thanks
