Car Alarms: Autopage car alarm randomly goes off, mitsubishi 3000gt, autopage alarm

Question
Hi there.

My 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT has an Autopage 2-way pager alarm system that will randomly go off at odd times of the day, with no tampering being done to the vehicle. It is the aftermarket Autopage alarm that goes off, not the factory one (I get the siren, as opposed to honking). This is very frustrating, because it causes an unnecessary nuisance to the entire neighborhood. What causes this malfunction, and what can be done to fix it?

Thank you for you time.

Answer
Check the shock sensor on the system and turn it
down (turn inset wheel counter clockwise) or,
unplug it completely, and see it that was the issue.

If it does, leave it be. If that does not do it,
then the door triggers are detecting an open circuit
(unlikely if no dome light or, courtesy light
is not on when the alarm triggers randomly.)

I think it's the shock sensor.
Let me know what you discover.

Good luck.
