Car Alarms: 1993 Nissan Maxima alarm problem., nissan maxima, power locks

Question
Dear Sir,

I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima with 148,000+ miles logged.  For the past year or so I have had a problem with the alarm system.  In the beginning whenever I opened the passenger door the alarm would go off.  I could turn the alarm off by placing the key in the driver's side door and turning it until the alarm shut off.

Recently, however, when I open the driver door the alarm has gone off a few times.  The only way to turn if off was to pop the hood and disconnect the battery and try again.  I have gone as far as removing the two fuses to the alarm (one under the dash and one under the hood near the battery.).  Sadly, this does not work as the alarm still activates from time to time and I must disconntect the battery.

I know Nissan's have alot of gremlins in their electrical systems and mine is no exception - dash lights, power locks, power windows, etc.  Do you have any suggestions on turning the alarm off permanently?

Thanks, David

PS - I read the 12-21-04 response about the same problem on the 93 Maxima.  I think my problem has progressed.

Answer
Ok then. let's just get rid of it for good.
Locate the OEM Alarm Disarm Wire:

GREEN/BLACK (-)
DRIVER KICK PANEL IN THE HARNESS FROM THE DOOR.

Then ground it permanantly to the chassis of the car.
This will disable the OEM system.

That should solve your problem as far as the factory
system is concerned. But this leaves the car vulnerable.
Get an alarm and kyless that you can control the
features of, and you will be all set.

Tell me how it goes.
