Car Stereos: Panasonic DVD entertainment package, chev tahoe, tahoe z71

Brian, I have an 04 Chev. Tahoe Z71 with the entertainment sun package which included a panasonic dvd rear flip down player.  I have recently received an error message "Disc Format Error".  This began occurring during a recent road trip.  Before that the DVD player was playing fine.  We have used DVD's that have played in the unit in the past so I don't believe its the DVD's themselves.  The owners manual does not have a remedy for this error other than check the DVD itself.  If you can think of any other reason this would show as an error please let me know.  Thanks for your service,  Steve

Steve, you should try using a lens cleaning dvd, and see if it cleans the player up enough to use it.  Otherwise, you are going to have to have the player professionally cleaned.  That error means it can not read the dvd.  If the dvd is good, then the lens must be dusty/dirty and causing the player to be unable to read dvds.  Hope this helps, Scott
