GMC Repair: 96 GMC pickup wont start, fuel pump relay, gmc pickup

Question
I have spark. Also, I got underneath and had a friend turn the ignition switch on and I did not hear the fuel pump kick on.

I checked the valve on the fuel line again and it's not spitting out any fuel now.

thanks

Answer
Locate the fuel pump relay and taped to the electrical harness right near the realy is a female plastic electrical connector connected to NOTHING. This is your FUEL PUMP TEST LEAD.

Using a standard test light probe this connector and trun the ignition key ON. the light should illuminate for 2 seconds ONLY and then go out.

If it does, You either have a faulty wire from this TEST LEAD back to the pump and or a faulty pump in the fuel tank.
