American Motors: AMC 303 Carb, amc 304, carb settings

I have an AMC 304 stock in a CJ5.  right now I have a Holly 2bl 500cfm carb and want to put on a Motorcraft 4bl that came off a J10 truck with a 360.   What is the carb settings and is the 4bl too big?  I will be switching the manifold too.  Thanks

If you have been using the Holley 500 with no problem, the Motorcraft should be OK. If possible, though, I would recommend using a Holley or Edlebrock 600 carburetor. The Motorcraft is not what I would consider a reliable carburetor. With the Holley or Edlebrock, you can at least re-jet it for your engine. Use a quality low restriction air filter, too, if you aren't already.
