Audio Systems: Aftermarket Radio Has No Power All Of A Sudden, fuse, amplifiers

my girl got her dad to install his old system for her,...but now the radio doesnt even power on. at first it kept turning off and on when the music was loud but i guess since i saw her today,..she told me that the radio wont work at all. i think that it might be the remote wire,...but i might be wrong. So try and help out please.

is it just a cd player or are there other new components like amplifiers, etc?

Most likely its just the wiring behind the cd player, check all wiring to make sure it's right, when you said it use to cut out at high volume did it blow a fuse or just stop by itself and start back by itself when you turned it back down?
