Audio Systems: fitting my car stereo, auto department, radio player

Question
HI, I BOUGHT ANOTHER CAR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, AND WANT TO FIT MY CD/RADIO PLAYER, BUT WHEN I TOOK THE OTHER STEREO OUT, IT WAS ALL CONNECTED UP TO CONNECTER BLOCKS, THE ONES WHERE YOU PUT THE WIRES FROM THE CAR IN ONE SIDE SCREW IT UP AND THE ONE FROM THE STEREO IN THE OTHER SIDE. I FOLLOWED THE WIRES, WHICH DID SAY WHAT THEY WERE FOR ON THEM, AND PUT MY STEREO WIRES IN THE BLOCK, BUT NOTHING WORKS, COULD YOU PLEASE HELP, AS THIS STEREO WAS WORKING PERFECT IN OLD CAR. THANK YOU

Answer
Without knowing your car or your radio it is only general information I can give.

Check the power line and the ignition lines for 12v.  You should purchase a smal vom (volt-ohm-meter) from Walmart for $9.83 in the electric department (not the auto department - it is not as good and costs more - and check the voltages to your unit and the wiring to the speakers.

AND: Please go to
www.installdr.com
and see if your car is listed among the many photos and wiring sequences; it may help you get is all straightened out.  Not all vehicles are on that site, but maybe one that is the same manufacturer and same wiring will be there.

Best wishes,
