Audio Systems: speaker noise, ground loop isolator, duty alternator

Question
hi tom,
i just got a deck installed into my 99 golf, and also a amp and sub. the rest of the speakers are stock. my sub and rear speakers are picking up engine noise when im accelerating or just idling, i was wondering if there were a few solutiond you could give me. also i had the same problem in my last car so i got a negative ground loop(ground lug) i believe its called and it fixed the problem.. i was also wondering if you could tell me how to hook it up to my cd player which would hopefully fix the problem.

thanks alot

Answer
Sahba,
The amp is picking up noise from the engine or alternator. A ground loop isolator may help with the noise. You may also need to install a heavy duty alternator filter on the alternator to help filter out noise. Note, the ground loop isolator will be installed at the inputs to the amp.
