Audio Systems: CD player, car cd players, cd palyer

I have a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer.  My factory CD palyer when you put the cd in.  The cd often does not go in.  It ejects out 90% of the time.  The other 10 I might get lucky and it will go right in.  Does this mean that I have to replave the CD player or is it repairable?

It's possible that the load rollers are dirty and or slippery? You may want to try cleaning the rollers with alcohol. The fault may also be due to a failing sensor. You may want to have something who knows car CD players take a look at your unit.
