Cadillac Repair: 97 sts flasher, seville sts, emergency flashers

Question
My '97 Seville STS has flashers that work intermittently. Sometimes the flashers work correctly, but more often the indicator and the lights themselves just stay on the whole time I've got the signal on. My Dad and I replaced the flasher under the steering column, but the problem continues. A local parts dealer tells me that some cars have more than one flasher, but could offer no further information. What do you think?

Answer
Josh,

You may have replaced the flasher that runs the hazard lights.

Check the part number and make sure that you have the correct one.

That seville should have 2 flashers --- one for the regualar turn signals, the other for the emergency flashers.

The best way to make sure you have it correct, is to match the part numbers correctly.

Best of Luck,

Ron
