Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1940 ford woody, door key, turning the key

Question
Hi, my boss just bough a 1940 ford woody all 100% original. He has a problem with the ignition switch it won't turn. The key ignition switch has a small lever with on/off and a silver round button in the side that apparently you suppose to push in wen turning the key ...but it doesn't turn and to make matters worst it has a steering lock and we can get out off the way...please help. thanks

Answer
This is a matter for a locksmith. You should have two Hurd keys with this car, and one is for the doors only. My guess is that you're trying the door key. Have a good locksmith cut a key for the ignition lock and I'll bet your problems are over.

How did you get the car to your boss' place without starting or steering it? Tow truck, I guess...
