Classic/Antique Car Repair: Leaking trans, 67 camaro, garage queen

Hello, i have a 67 camaro with a powerglide a garage queen, it leaks trans fluid from sitting, i have replaced trans gasket, pan, checked lines. my mechanic says this is normal he says fluid from converter leaks back into pan causing this, says i should start it once a week.. any help thanks ..glenn

Your mechanic is exactly right, except he should have also added that you can have this fixed, but it requires removing the transmission from the car to replace a seal which is worn out that is supposed to prevent this problem.

It's up to you - is starting it once every few days too much trouble? - then spend the $2000 to get it fixed. If it isn't, just live with it!
